Is this a suitable course for me?
Yes, if:
- you are an experienced teacher of English (or another foreign language) – with a CELTA certificate (or its equivalent), some post-CELTA experience, and – preferably – with a diploma-level qualification (DELTA, MA, DipTESOL or their equivalents)
- you are about to enter or have entered a post as an academic manager
- you have a high standard of English proficiency – the required minimum is C1 or higher (CEFR scale)
- you have access to the Internet and the necessary ICT skills to participate actively in the online experience: take part in webinars; communicate using instant messengers (e.g. Skype), email, chat rooms and forum boards; use word processing software (e.g. Office Word, Pages).
These criteria are assessed during the application process.
How much time do I need to complete the course?

- LENGTH: 12 weeks (60-85 study hours)
- WEEKLY WORKLOAD: You need to dedicate 5-7 hours per week spent online to complete the tasks. Working hours are generally flexible, but some tasks require group work and have set deadlines.
- MODULES & ASSIGNMENT: For 12 weeks, you cover the course modules. Then for 2 weeks, you work on completing the course assignment.

Step 2: After you get a confirmation email from us – within 7 days, pay the non-refundable deposit (PLN 1500, included in the full fee). Then pay the remainder of the fee no later than 14 days before the course start date.
What topics does the course cover?
Designed for experienced teachers, who are interested in taking up academic management positions or keen to develop as Director of Studies, the IH Director of Studies Course aims to give an overview of what can be expected internationally in a DoS’s job. The sessions give you opportunities to experience being in the role of a DoS, focussing both on theory and practice, through an interactive and participatory programme of seminars and task work.

COURSE PRICE
- Early bird fee: 3300 PLN (equivalent of ca USD 985 | EUR 795)
- Standard fee: 3500 PLN (equivalent of ca. USD 1045 | EUR 845)
PAYMENT
- EARLY BIRD DEADLINE: Please note that in order to qualify for an early bird fee, payment of the full fee must be made no later than 21 days before the course start date.
- FULL FEE DEADLINE: Payment of the full fee must be made no later than 14 days before the course start date.
- DEPOSIT: In order to secure a place on the course, you need to pay a non-refundable deposit of 1500 PLN (equivalent of ca. USD 450 or EUR 365) within 7 days of receiving a confirmation email from Lang. The deposit will be refunded if the course is cancelled by the organiser.

To obtain an IH DoS Course certificate, recognised by employers around the world, you need to:
- complete 60% of the 13 portfolio tasks (before the course closing date)
- complete the final assignment and submit it before the course closing date
- take part in the 2 real-time webinars
The portfolio is moderated by the IHWO Assessment Unit who agree on the final grade with the course tutors.
In addition, teachers working in Poland obtain a LANG Teacher Training Centre certificate, recognised by Kuratorium Oświaty.
